Posture Awareness Class
A new Posture Awareness Class is being held at West Cliff Baptist Church on Poole Road in Westbourne. Thursday’s 10:30am-11:30am, beginning on 4th February 2010.
Beat the signs of tension on your muscles, caused by sports or work injuries, and accumulated stress from daily routine!
Instructed by Chartered Physiotherapist Laylane Chagas, the Posture Awareness Class is open to men and women of all fitness levels and ages.Physiotherapy, Iso-Stretching and Global Postural Re-education (RPG®) are all incorporated with the aim of improving your body and posture perception using a mixture of muscle stretching & strengthening, based on specific postures.
Come and learn how to maintain optimal posture alignment!
Posture Awareness class will help you:
• detect and self-correct impaired postures
• increase body stability
• ease posture maintenance
• associate good breathing with your daily activities
• in stress management
• learn relaxation techniques
• develop healthy exercise habits
Class contents:
• training of body perception and posture awareness
• global and analytical muscle stretching using specific postures
• abdominal muscles and core stability strengthening
• breathing re-education
• balance, coordination and gait training
