Westbourne to loose another retail unit?

Did you know that a change of use application has been registered with the council for 51 Seamoor Road to change the retail unit (currently Mystique) to a take-away?

The business that may take the unit is Domino's Pizza. If approved this will means another retail unit will be lost in Westbourne.

This is the second retail unit in this part of Seamoor Road to go this year alone and the loss of any shop means that there is less choice for shoppers visiting Westbourne.

If you wish to object to the application it needs to arrive at the Council Offices by THIS FRIDAY 18TH MAY.

Click here to download a standard letter outlining the objection. Print it off and fill in your details then either post it to arrive on Friday or drop it round to Steve at Fab Frocks in Seamoor Road who will be taking any objections up to the Council Offices on Friday afternoon.

Summer Charity Fashion Show at Sandbanks

The Wessex Autistic Society and specialist fashion retailers Beach and Body and Fab Frocks, both based in Westbourne, are teaming up to present a fund-raising Fashion Show.

The event, on Thursday 17th May will be held at the Haven Hotel in Sandbanks and present designer swimwear, beach clothes and accessories, as well as gorgeous summer dresses and special occasion outfits.

Beach and Body models will show the latest fashion beach and swimwear, from top international designers such as Sunflair, showing that the right swimsuit enhances any figure. Fab Frocks will present dressy daywear from designers Allison and Michaela Louisa, special occasion outfits and great wearable prints for cool cruises. Each outfit shown will be fully accessorised, completing the look.

The new May & June edition of the Westbourne Magazine is out now.

Losing Weight And Looking Great

Local Mum Sharon May celebrated losing weight and regaining her pre-maternity size 12 figure by treating herself to a designer swimsuit and sarong from Westbourne’s specialist fashion swimwear shop, Beach and Body.

With a busy lifestyle and 2 small children, Sharon felt had lost her 'get up and go', as well as gaining 2 stone in weight. However, by following a low calorie healthy meal plan designed by Barbara Cox of Nutrichef, combined with a regular light exercise programme she now feels fantastic.

“I feel great, and I know I am healthy on the inside as well as on the outside. When I modelled these lovely swimsuits at the “after” photo shoot, I knew I just had to have one. I chose Sunflair’s “Colours of the Night” because it made me look and feel wonderful, and then added the matching skirt which can also been worn as a dress. I didn’t want to hide my shape any more, and just loved this dramatic style. It was a tangible reward for my efforts, and I enjoy wearing it now – even my husband was impressed!”

Beach and Body proprietor Melanie Mogford talked to Sharon about her fashion likes and dislikes before selecting the swimsuits and accessories for the photoshoot. “I recommended this particular designer range at it suited her new body shape. She was so pleased with the look, she took the outfit home with her. And she looks fabulous!”

Early Birds Save £10

The next Westbourne Magazine is our May & June edition and it comes out on the 1st May. If you run a local shop, business or service we'd love to have you included in this edition.

The edition will have a summery theme, feature the Jubilee, outdoor events and focus on the home and garden. Are you doing anything special to mark the Jubilee? What could you promote to our readers in May & June.

Early Birds Save £10

The deadline for booking a space is Monday 16th April and the final deadline for all artwork is 23rd April. However, if you book online by Friday 6th April you can save £10 off the rates (yes, even off a quarter page!).

Rates

We haven't increased our rates since starting in 2009. Quarter pages are still £39 (special price £29), half pages are £65 (special price £55) and a full page is £115 (special price £105). There's still no VAT and artwork is always free. Discount rate only available for online bookings.
