M&S Reduce Car Park Refund Spend
M&S in Westbourne has reduced the amount you need to spend to get a refund on your parking. They recently caused outrage among local shoppers and traders by introducing a £3 parking ticket and requiring a spend of £15 to get this back.
You now only need to spend a more reasonable £5 in the M&S store to get your £3 parking ticket refunded.

"How lovely to win a prize", says Anne who picked up the Westbourne Magazine in Starbucks. She'll be enjoying a meal for 2 at Pizza Express.
The March compeition is now open, the prize is a giant luxury Easter Egg (worth £45) from Chocol8 of Westbourne.

No More Free Parking in M&S
Since M&S took over the Waitrose site in Westbourne, they offered free parking for the first hour (with a free ticket from the machine).
However, shoppers must now pay £3 to park for an hour or £5 for 90 minutes. You are not allowed to return within 2 hours and the fine if you fail to comply is £70.
You can get the parking ticket refunded if you spend £15 or more in the store.
The move has provoked anger amongst Westbourne's shoppers and worries from local traders. While taking a photo of the sign, shown right, we spoke to a number of shoppers who had taken a look and commented that they were leaving and not shopping in M&S again.
Are you happy to pay £3 for an hours parking?
50 Years of The Riviera
Amidst all the recent bad news and gloom of the recession, The Riviera Hotel in Alum Chine has some good news!
In March 2010 they achieve their fiftieth anniversary. They opened as a 10 bedroom hotel in 1960 and grown into a successful 85 bedroom 3 star hotel which includes 10 holiday apartments.
The Riviera Hotel has been owned by the Callaghan family for all of these 50 years and over that time many hundreds of holidaying families have returned again and again, some with their own new generations. The Riviera Hotel is the only remaining large hotel in Alum Chine.
