Small Businesses come to the fore in icy weather
The Chairman of the Wessex Region of the Federation of Small Businesses, Ken Moon, has praised the resolve and fortitude of small businesses in local communities during the current adverse weather conditions. Mr Moon says the ability of community stores and pubs in particular to support local communities in times of difficulty show that the FSB's Keep Trade Local is totally justified.
Speaking from his home in Hampshire, which has been hit hard by the recent heavy snowfalls, Mr Moon said: "Small stores in small communities have been doing an excellent job keeping people supplied with essential goods and going out of the way to keep shelves stocked for those unable to travel. Many such businesses are under threat and I sincerely hope that once the weather improves and we all get back to normal people will remember how important these businesses were to them."
The FSB's Keep Trade Local Campaign seeks to stem the tide of business closures, reverse the trend and defend the choice and diversity that customers deserve.
